See How Far Joe Milton Can Throw An Orange

There’s no doubt Joe Milton III has elite arm strength. The redshirt senior quarterback can make your jaw drop with his magnificent deep balls like he did this season against Missouri and Akron though he can also struggle to contain his massive arm tossing overthrows.

While he prepares to make his fourth career Tennessee start in the Orange Bowl, there was one question the people needed to know? How far can Joe Milton throw an orange?

Fortunately, Tennessee’s video team got to the bottom of it.

Milton heaves the orange from the goal line of one of the three 80-yard fields at the Haslam Practice Field. The orange flies all the way over the 80-yard field plus the 10-yard end zone before hitting the wall another five-to-10 yards past the back of the end zone.

All-in-all, Milton’s throw tallies roughly 100 yards. An insane distance that leads to the orange exploding on contact.

Milton is making his second start of the season against No. 7 Clemson in the Orange Bowl. The former Michigan quarterback played solid in a blowout win over Vanderbilt but the Vols will need more from their signal caller against the Tigers.

The Florida native plans to return to Tennessee for his sixth and final season of eligibility. Milton will be the favorite to win the starting job as he competes against freshman Nico Iamaleava and redshirt freshman Tayven Jackson.

Playing in seven games this season, Milton’s thrown for 720 yards, seven touchdowns and zero interceptions.
