Ime Udoka was suspended by the Boston Celtics. Udokas' team went from below-500 to 2-seed in the Eastern Conference entering the postseason. Marcus Smart won NBA Defensive Player of the Year for his defensive play. Celtics All-Star wings Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown stepped up their defense last season. Celtics big Robert Williams III became one of NBA's best defensive centers.

The Eastern Conference has better teams than the West. Three Eastern teams are in the top five for best odds to win the NBA title. Milwaukee Bucks are ahead of the Celtics as the No. 1 team in East. Coach Ime Udoka's suspension moves Boston below Brooklyn Nets.

The Celtics went Under 50.5 wins in Stevens' final three seasons as the coach. Last season, the Celtics won 77% of their games post-All-Star break. They play clumsy half-court offense, turn the ball over too much and settle for long, contested 2-pointers. Malcolm Brogdon is never healthy.
