She will have her work cut out against Potapova and we do not expect her to find her an easy opponent. However, overall, we expect her Grand Slam experience to count in her favour.

The Russian enjoys her best Grand Slam win percentage in Melbourne (43%) and has got through the first round stage in 2019 and 2021. Furthermore, she ended 2022 with her highest singles ranking (42). Although we think that she will be beaten over the course of this match, we are backing her to take a set off Stephens.

Anastasia Potapova
The 21 year old registered her best Grand Slam performance at the Australian Open in 2021 when she reached the third round. However, she proceeded to then go on a run of four successive first round exits which was only ended by getting to the second round at the US Open last September.
