Slow Payment Times from Sportsbooks Spur Complaints
Complaints filed against top sportsbooks showed problems with withdrawal times.
There were 2,400 complaints of slow or glitchy payment periods against FanDuel, DraftKings and BetMGM in three years. Most of the complaints came from customers who were forced to wait days or weeks to access their winnings.
FanDuel, DraftKings and BetMGM are the most popular sports betting operators in the US. The Better Business Bureau report found that they have a low response rate to complaints. They also have long payment periods. Sports betting was legalized in 2018. PASPA effectively made it illegal everywhere but Nevada. Draft Kings and FanDuo operate in a heavily regulated industry.
The complaints have not been damaging to the companies, but they are concerned about the slow payment times. The next major event for sports betting companies is the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
