Canterbury were terrible last week and have been much better the last 10 weeks, Souths had allowed an average of 33 points per game before their victory against the Warriors last week, however, it was in torrential rain and this week they will be missing four players to Origin.
Like I said, anything can happen, so I am going to bet on that. I am going to take the Bulldogs moneyline, either team to win by under 10.5 points and let’s throw in a 6-1 try scorer while we are at it and backed Toby Sexton to score a 4-pointer on debut for the Dogs.
- Canterbury have conceded an average of 49 points in their last 3 games.
- The Bulldogs are the worst team in the NRL in Points For and Points Against, which gives them the worst points differential by a massive 65 points.
- The Rabbitohs have conceded 28 points or more in 5 of their last 6 games
- Souths have conceded a try to opposing halfbacks in 2 of their last 3 games
Head to Head
Souths have absolutely dominated Canterbury head-to-head, winning their previous five meetings and eight of their last 10.
The Rabbitohs and the Dogs last met in round 6 with Souths getting up 50-6, also at Accor Stadium. Interesting to note, there were nine tries scored by five different Rabbitohs players and none of them will feature in the round 19 clash.
South Sydney Rabbitohs Form
Since the Rabbits lost 36-16 to the Eels in Round 12 and lost Latrell Mitchell to a calf injury, they have not been the same club that were firmly in the top 4 after 11 rounds of NRL.
As it has been well publicised, they went from being one of the league’s best defensive outfits, not conceding over 20 points a game in the first 11 rounds, to allowing an average of 28 points their last six matches.
Their fall from the top 4 has been on the back of losing four of their last six games, after winning six straight between rounds 6-11.

Toby Sexton will take the reins at halfback, with Matt Burton playing five-eighth and Khaled Rajab being omitted from the lineup.
In the fullback role, Jake Averillo will get the nod with Hayze Perham geting the axe. Meanwhile, a fresh centre pairing of Jackson Topine and Braidon Burns will replace Paul Alamoti.
Due to State of Origin commitments, Josh Addo-Carr will be absent from the wing, and Blake Wilson will step in as his replacement.
Kyle Flanagan, who made quite an impression in the NSW Cup, will join the action from the bench, wearing the No.14 jersey.
