A 64-team tournament would crush qualifying and put some less-competitive teams in the tournament.

There would be 48 teams in the World Cup in 2022. Oceania would have qualified for the tournament. CONCACAF will have six teams for 2026. Europe would grow to 16, South America to 6, and there would also be a playoff to decide two more places.
