SPORTS ROUND-UP: Hockey Olympian Róisín wins her 100th Irish cap
Róisín Upton won her 100th cap for Ireland against Italy in the Women's FIH Hockey Nations Cup in Valencia last Monday. She has been playing hockey for the Irish team since 2016 and won a silver medal at the World Cup 2018. Ró is a member of the first women's hockey team to compete in Tokyo 2020 Games.
GAA secretary Mike O'Riordan recommends that stiles remain cash-free in club matches. Club gate receipts in Limerick for 2022 topped €1 million. The Senior Hurling Final involving Na Piarsaigh and Kilmallock netted the largest single fixture return, close on €40,000.
Limerick's St Leger Classic was cancelled due to the weather. The €60,000 Matchbook Betting Exchange Irish St. Lege Final of 2022 will be held at Greenpark Stadium next Sunday night (December 25). The opening race starts at 6.30 pm.

Newcastle West play Clogher Valley in the semi-final of the Energia All-Ireland Junior League at Cullinagh on Saturday next at 2.30 pm. Limerick side have home advantage. Newcastle West beat Ballyclare 26-24 in quarter-finals. Enniskillen play Monkstown in other semi at the weekend.
