Spring racing brings the party trackside at Morphettville

For racing enthusiasts and fashion lovers, being trackside at Morphettville Racecourse during the Spring Racing Carnival offers a non-stop party vibe like no other.

Every Saturday, starting October 14, is an opportunity to get dressed up and socialise with friends in the glorious spring sunshine.

With food and drinks flowing, the excitement of the horses thundering down the track just metres away and fabulous all-day entertainment, the season promises plenty of fun and photo opportunities.

Between local races, there are also live telecasts of feature race days from Melbourne and Sydney, giving punters the inside edge in the leadup to the Melbourne Cup.

Starting from $20, a general admission ticket gives race goers access to each day’s festivities, or they can upgrade their experience with a CC Giddy Up Club VIP booth, luxury Sofitel accommodation package and more.

Morphettville Racecourse’s Guinness on Guineas Day opens the celebrations on October 14. There is an invitation to ‘get sham-rocked’ with an Irish pub experience featuring Guinness on tap and a Jameson’s Bar.

The party rocks on with a high energy, after-race concert from Vertigo, Adelaide’s favourite U2 cover band.

Caulfield Cup Day on October 21 is an opportunity to channel one’s inner high roller and be part of the world’s richest turf handicap over 2400 metres.

Naturally, the glamour amps up for this, with bold fashions and statement jewellery the order of the day. A 360 photo booth is on hand to capture every glammed up crew.

Caulfield Cup also sees the opening of Flourish, a lush trackside oasis with an elevated food and drink offering, plus DJ’s creating the daytime party vibes. Entry to Flourish is included in all Spring Racing Carnival tickets.

Cox Plate Day on October 28 is one for the guys. Billed as a ‘gents day out at the gee gees’ it has everything to keep the good times flowing – with a serious dose of style thrown in.

In addition to the usual race day offering, there are arcade and lawn games, a live DJ and a new Heineken Garden within Flourish.

Of course, the excitement is expected to be at fever pitch beside the track and in the Betting Ring, where the betting, bar and big screen make it easy to settle in for a day with friends.

Black and white is the classic fashion choice at Victoria Derby Day on November 4. However, with Croser Fashions on the Field taking place on the day, anything fabulous goes!

For those in need of fanciful headwear – perhaps for Melbourne Cup! – a milliner is on hand for consultation with ready-to-wear pieces also available for sale. Meanwhile, the party vibes continue all day in Flourish.

The race that stops the nation, the Melbourne Cup, is the perfect excuse for a weekday party with friends at Morphettville Racecourse.

The Melbourne Cup Day event brings all the action from Flemington to the big screen as the program of local races delivers all the thrills trackside.

While the hot ticket is general admission at only $35, for an indulgent experience, the Champagne on the Champagne Lawns, Diva Lounge and other packages hit the spot.

The final Saturday will close out the carnival with flame-grilled fare featuring in Flourish and free family-friendly activities such as a petting zoo and jumping castle on Champion Stakes Day on November 11.

General admission tickets are $20 for all race days, except Melbourne Cup at $35. Select the ‘Buy tickets’ button on the website to see each day’s available packages. Before you head to the track, check the Morphettville dress code here.
