Spurs vs. Pelicans prediction and odds for Tuesday, March 21 (Can bettors trust San Antonio?)

Tuesday night’s matchup with the San Antonio Spurs is a must win for the New Orleans Pelicans, who are in danger of falling out of the play-in tournament race in the Western Conference.

With Zion Williamson and Jose Alvarado still out, the Pels are leaning on Brandon Ingram and C.J. McCollum to carry this team to a postseason berth. After bouncing back from a loss to the Houston Rockets with a win over Houston in their last game, the Pelicans are massive favorites at home against the Spurs.

San Antonio is down several key players in this game including Devin Vassell, Jeremy Sochan, Zach Collins and likely Tre Jones (doubtful).

Can San Antonio, who has won five of its last 10 games, play spoiler tonight?

Spurs vs. Pelicans odds, spread and total

Spurs vs. Pelicans prediction and pick

The Pelicans have a much better home record than road record this season, but they have covered the spread just 12 times in 24 tries as home favorites.

Meanwhile, the Spurs are playing some of their best basketball of the season, either winning outright or staying within 12 points in six consecutive games.

In fact, over the Spurs’ last 10 games, they actually outrank the Pelicans in net rating (21 vs. 22).

I’m not going to say that the Spurs are live to win this game, but even with all of their injuries 13 points is a lot to give a New Orleans team that lost outright to Houston last week.

Take the double-digit points with Gregg Popovich’s squad tonight.
