Mississippi State plays the SEC opener at LSU. Ole Miss is in Atlanta for the second-straight season to play Georgia Tech.

MSU is playing at LSU. Last time the Bulldogs played in Baton Rouge they won 44-34. The attendance was 21,124. MSU has played well in their third season under Mike Leach. LSU's new quarterback Jayden Daniels is a running quarterback. He can hurt the team if he gets open running lanes. He was instrumental in the 99-yard drive to get within an extra point kick away on the last play of the game. It's a game that will tell us a lot about the MSu team. They are improved in third year under Leaches. Other teams in SEC haven't been standing still.

Tech has a new offensive coordinator, Chip Long, under head coach Geoff Collins. The Yellow Jackets threw the ball 54 percent of the time in their season-opening loss to Clemson. They ran the football more in Week 2, scoring 13 points off four forced turnovers. It's Ole Mississippi's first Power Five game and its first road game. Lane Kiffin is hoping to pull of this road trip with no drama. The Rebels' 2 1/2 dozen transfers are playing well.
