Stanford Football: Preview: No. 4 Stanford WVB to face Houston in Sweet Sixteen
Stanford women's volleyball team will play Houston in the Sweet Sixteen (regional semifinal) of the NCAA tournament on Thursday at 7:00 PM PT on ESPNU. The match will be played at Maples Pavilion as Stanford has home court advantage through the Final Four. San Diego and Kentucky are the other teams in this regional semifinals.
Stanford completed a 3-0 (25-11, 25-15, and 25 -21) sweep of LSU in the second round of the tournament on Saturday. Kendall Kipp led the way for Stanford with 24 kills.
Houston went 30-3 overall and 19-1 in the American Conference in regular season. They advanced to the Sweet Sixteen after defeating South Dakota 3-2 and Auburn 3 -2. Abbie Jackson (3.76 kills per set), Isabel Theut ( 3.35 kills), Kate Georgiades (5.47 digs per sets) and Georgis made national news for her effort to keep a point alive last week. Houston's opponents average 11.19 kills and .169 hitting percentage.

It's been crazy for the teams. they've seen the highest of the highs and the lowest of lows. Their goal is to win one point and then win the next point. Then try to collect the points after that.
