NCAA volleyball 2022 regionals

Texas, Wisconsin, Louisville and Stanford did not advance to regional play. They will host the regionals this weekend. Regional semifinals begin Thursday morning and the regional finals will be played on Saturday.

Sam Gore is surprised by the lack of parity in the NCAA volleyball tournament. Georgia, Northern Iowa, Auburn, LSU and Kansas upset the top seeds.

Shelby Coppedge thinks there is a good amount of parity in the tournament this year. San Diego, a non-Power 5 team, is ranked in top five in nation. A lot of Power 5 athletes have transferred to smaller Division I schools.

Paul Sunderland was not surprised by the results of the NCAA volleyball tournament. USC and BYU were disappointed with their second-round matches. Fourth-seeded Creighton is out after losing Kendall Wait to injury.

The selection committee did a good job this year. Creighton was the biggest Cinderella in the women's hoops tournament. Big Ten has five teams in Sweet 16, ACC and SEC have two teams each in regional semifinals.  NCAA volleyball 2022 regionals are scheduled for March.

Texas impressed Gore and Coppedge the most in the first two rounds of the NCAA volleyball tournament. Coppingge is impressed with Auburn, who upset fourth-seeded Creighton.

Sunderland picks teams to watch in the NCAA volleyball tournament. Voepel picks Houston Cougars, who won two five-set matches in Omaha to make the Sweet 16. SportsCenter's Top 10 picked Kate Georgiades as one of the best players in college volleyball.

Gore and Coppedge think that all the No. 1 seeds are in danger of being upset. Coppingge thinks that Nebraska is coming for a vengeance after losing to Wisconsin in the 2021 championship.

Louisville, Texas, Nebraska and Ohio State are the teams to watch. The winner of the Ohio-Minnesota game will go to Omaha. Two of Nebraska's five NCAA titles have come in Omaha: in 2006 and 2015. Texas' last NCAA championship was in 2012. It's the 10th anniversary of their last championship.

Gore, Coppedge and Coppé think Texas vs. Minnesota would be the most compelling regional final. Texas didn't get past the top eight last season and this is its last year with Logan Eggleston and other senior powerhouses. The Gophers want to win more than anything for their coach Hugh McCutcheon's last game.

Stanford and Louisville are in the NCAA volleyball tournament. Dani Busboom Kelly is a former Nebraska player and assistant coach at Louisville. She is trying to become the first female head coach of a championship team. She will have to beat her alma mater Oregon and beat Baylor in regional semifinals.

Gore, Coppedge and Coppel predict Wisconsin, Stanford and Nebraska will make it to the final four.

Sunderland and Voepel are picking the No. 1 seeds for the NCAA volleyball tournament.
