Stars Season Preview: Under new coach DeBoer, Dallas searches for consistency

The Dallas Stars are looking for consistency under new coach Peter DeBoer. They made the playoffs last year, but they lost to Calgary Flames in seven games. Deboer has a reputation for building teams up quickly. The team plays Nashville Predators on Thursday night.  

Robertson and Oettinger were signed to long-term contracts by Dallas. The team is strapped for money and needs to keep them for years to come.

Mason Marchment signed a one-year deal with Dallas. John Klingberg and Alexander Radulov are no longer with the team. Anton Khudobin is no more, and he's likely to be traded.  The team signed Colin Miller and Will Butcher.

Dallas' top line scored at least 10 goals last season. The team's bottom six forwards were ineffective. Peter Deboer's management style and blue line and netminder's presence are key to unlocking the Stars' potential.

Dallas Stars have made the playoffs in three of the last four seasons. They are expected to finish 4th in the Central Division and second-round playoff exit.
