Sunday Night Baseball, Phillies vs Nationals: Odds & Picks

Sunday Night Baseball on ESPN has rolled around once again, and this week we get to see the Philadelphia Phillies take on the Washington Nationals.

We’ve got our prediction and best bet for the game at hand. These teams are all too familiar with each other, as this is the 13th and final meeting this season.

The Phillies currently lead the season series 7-5 after beating the Nats 12-3 last night.

Philadelphia is currently on top of the wild card spot, and they will look to stay there as the season comes to a close.

Sunday Night Baseball Game Information

This edition of Sunday Night Baseball is being played in Williamsport, PA for all the eyes to see.

Like I said, the Phillies have already locked in the season series, but the Nationals could still take 2 out of 3 this go around.

Trevor Williams takes the mound for Washington, while the Phillies are throwing out Zach Wheeler.

Phillies vs Nationals Prediction & Best Bets

I think the Phillies run away with this one, and it could get very one sided.

There are several Philadelphia hitters that have great history against Trevor Williams, and I think they could exploit that on national television tonight.

I lean with the over, but am not sure the Nationals will provide enough run support to get us there, so instead I have a couple player props.

Player Props

Nick Castellanos over 1.5 Bases (-105) Bovada

Castellanos had a home run and 5 bases last night in the Phillies 12-3 win.

He’s cleared 2+ bases in 7 of his last 10 games, totaling 29 bases in that stretch with 4 HR.

He also has great history against Trevor Williams.

In 31 at bats, Castellanos is hitting .387 with 6 singles, 4 2B and 2 HR against Williams since 2017.

He also does well against Washington.

In 12 games against the Nationals, Castellanos has a hit in 11 of 12.

He’s cleared 2+ bases in 8/12 and has a total of 49 this season against the Nationals.

He has 8 HR and 22 hits against Washington this year.

I’ll gladly bet on him here.

Bonus Bet: Castellanos Home Run (+430)

J.T. Realmuto over 1.5 Bases (-105) Bovada

Realmuto bats .417 against Williams in just 12 at bats. He is 5/12 with a single, a double, and three home runs.

Realmuto has also been hot recently, clearing in 7 of his last 10, totaling 21 bases.

He also does well against the Nationals, clearing this line in 6/11 games, but soaring well over the line. He has games with 6, 5, 5, and 4 total bases against Washington.

In total, Realmuto has 26 bases in 11 games, plus 4 HR this season.

For the price, I like him to smack a double and probably even go yard again.
