Suns Grab Another Preseason Win, Moving Their Record to 3-1

The Phoenix Suns played their second matchup against the Trailblazers tonight and grabbed a solid victory at home. Phoenix played all around expectational basketball tonight, giving the fans even more hope for this super team.

The Big Three Did Their Thing

The Suns three headed monster combined for 49 points tonight, despite none of them playing 20 minutes. Durant and Booker each had 19 points and four assists. 17 of Bookers points came in the first quarter. Bradley Beal scored the least of the three, he had 11 points on 2-7 shooting. Beal also added two assists, one including beautiful crossover moves, and a great dump off to his big man.

Lockdown Defense

Defensively the Suns played a great game tonight. Jordan Goodwin headlined the Phoenix Suns defense, in his first four minutes Goodwin was able to grab four steals. The Suns held five Trailblazers to under five points, three of them played over ten minutes. Phoenix was also able to keep the Trailblazers three point percentage well under league average, at just 18.9%.

Grayson Allen got the start today for the suns over Josh Okogie. The two have been battling it out for the fifth starting spot on the team. Allen notched 13 points and 2 assists, and went 5-9 from the field. Okogie had 8 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists. They each played roughly the same amount of minutes, Okogie played 21 minutes to Allen’s 20. Josh Okogie did post a phenomenal plus/minues at +20, which led all of the Suns players. Allen had a plus/minus of +18.

Phoenix will hit the road again for their final preseason game. The Suns will travel to Los Angeles to take on Lebron and the Lakers, on Thursday the 19th. Tip off will take place at 7:00 pm PST.
