Suns vs. Clippers odds, props, predictions: Star-studded affair on tap in L.A. Monday night

The NBA has an excellent nightcap on tap for sports bettors following the college football national title game. The Suns visit the Clippers in a late game that will be in no short supply of star power with the likes of Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, James Harden, Russell Westbrook, Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal.

Phoenix has struggled to keep its star trio on the court together — Durant, Booker and Beal have only started together seven times. That has contributed to the second-worst spread record in the NBA at 13-22-1. The Clippers are much better, with an 18-17 ATS record. The Clippers are playing well, winning five of their last six and covering four of their last five. In contrast, the Suns are 2-2 in their last four, only covering the spread twice.

Here are the live odds for the Suns road contest with the Clippers on NBA TV at 10:30 p.m. ET. We have the Suns vs. Clippers betting news, game props from BetMGM Sportsbook and a betting prediction for Monday's Western Conference clash.

Phoenix Suns betting news

Beal has missed the most time of the Suns' stars having only played in 12 games this season. The good news is he has played in six straight, and the Suns have won four of them. While Booker played in each of the last six games, Durant only played in one.

Durant, Beal and Booker are not on tonight's injury report, and it would only be the eighth time this season that the Suns newly formed big three all play together this season. The star power for Phoenix is quite impressive, if they can get healthy there is still time to challenge for an NBA Championship.

With so many missed games by Beal, the Suns have leaned heavily on Booker and Durant. In many ways, Booker has been the most impressive, as he has assumed the point guard duties for Phoenix this season. He is averaging a career-high in assists at 7.9 per game and has been able to score at a high level (26.4 PPG). Tonight's game against the Clippers will be a good test against a team sitting fourth in the Western Conference — and one that has its own championship aspirations this season.

Los Angeles Clippers betting news

The Clippers shocked the NBA world by acquiring James Harden just after the NBA season started. There were some rough patches early, but the Clippers are building chemistry as a team and are playing some terrific basketball as of late. It has also helped Los Angeles that their star players, Paul George and, to a greater degree, Kawhi Leonard, have been healthy and playing in most games this season.

Leonard has never played in more than 74 regular season games and has not played in more than 57 in his first four seasons in Los Angeles. If Leonard keeps up his current pace, he will play in 73 games this season. If that happens, not only will the Clippers likely be near the top of the standings, but they will feel really good about their chances to be competitors in the playoffs.

Leonard is also having one of the most efficient seasons of his career. With so many stars on the Clippers, Kawhi may not be scoring a career-high average in points, but his volume is down because there are a lot of mouths to feed. He is shooting the second-highest mark of his career from three at 43.2% and his second-highest field goal percentage at 51.6%.

George (40.8%) and Harden (42.5%) are above 40% from three, helping this Clippers team round into form. This team's stars are handling a little less volume but posting career-high efficiency marks, making the Clippers very dangerous.
