Tennessee football's 2022 season ended with an Orange Bowl victory over Clemson Tigers. The team won 11 games and had the most successful season in 21 years. It's fair to wonder how repeatable the season was.

Josh Heupel's system is sustainable and effective. It's not about gimmicks, it's about scoring a lot of points quickly. Tennessee has a good amount of wins baked in to their schedule. In 2023 Tennessee will play games against Virginia, Austin Peay, UTSA, and Connecticut. They have a high floor. In 2022 Tennessee could reach its ceiling. The only time Tennessee stumbled was against the consensus #1 defense. Arkansas runs a version of the same offense with Kendal Briles at the helm.

Tennessee's Orange Bowl victory could be a look into the 2023 offense. Tennessee's recruiting has provided the team with potential superstar talents. The team needs to develop the talent. Joe Milton played the best game of his career in the Orangebowl. He was able to connect on some intermediate throws and showed off his mobility. Clemson's defense was focusing on the running game. Tennessee went up 14-0 early in 2nd and didn't score again until the end of the 3rd quarter. Eventually, the pace of Tennessee’s offense wore Clemson down and Tennessee was allowed to cruise to victory.
