Chelsea have won the Champions League for the second time in the modern era. Manchester United and Liverpool have also won it twice.

The Blues won the Champions League against the odds in 2012. Here are the last five Champions Leagues-winning clubs from the Premier League.

Liverpool won the Champions League in 2019. They finished second in Premier League to Manchester City. Liverpool won their first league title in 30 years in the 2019-20 season. They lost the semi-final to Barcelona in 2018-19 but won against Tottenham in Madrid.

Chelsea won the Champions League in 2012. Roberto Di Matteo took over as manager after Andre Villas-Boas was sacked. He was replaced by Jose Mourinho. Rafa Benitez was brought in temporarily on the same day. Chelsea won Europa League after their group stage elimination in the competition.  

Manchester United and Chelsea played in Moscow in 2008. United won the game on penalties. Sir Alex Ferguson's team won three Premier League titles in a row. They were denied a second successive Champions League by Barcelona. They also won Community Shield, Club World Cup and League Cup.

UEFA had to change the rules to allow Liverpool to enter the Champions League in 2005-06. They finished fifth in 2004-05 and were beaten by AC Milan in the 2005 Istanbul final. Steven Gerrard was close to joining them but changed his mind. The team won the FA Cup in 2006 and finished third in Premier League.

Manchester United won the Champions League in 1999. They won a treble under Ferguson. However, they withdrew from the FA Cup and the League Cup in 2000. They also lost in the UEFA Super Cup against Lazio.
