El Astronaute won at 15/2. Roaring Lion was fifth in the 2,000 guineas at Chester. Main Desire hadn't run for 12 months after injury. Richie's trainer Tom Tate hadn’t had a winner for 162 days. Peter was worried about cashing out over £50,00 on Richie.
