“The squad are just having the best time in New Zealand”

South Africa are playing at Rugby World Cup 2021 in New Zealand. They lost the opening match to France 40-5. This Sunday they play Fiji in their second Pool C match at the Waitakere Stadium. South Africa is 11th in the World Rugby Women’s Rankings and Fiji are 21st. Fiji lost their opening game to England.

Webb came off the bench in the second half against France. She has now played in two Rugby World Cups in a short space of time. Webb was also part of the South Africa squad that played at Rugby Cup Sevens in Cape Town this past September. She is in New Zealand to represent her country at the Rugby Championship in 2022. The team is having a good time in this place. They have some work to do but they feel in good place now. It was good to play in such an iconic stadium as Eden Park. There are some positives to take into their next game.

Webb grew up in East London and played in Rugby World Cup Sevens 2018 in San Francisco. Fiji will be a big test for Webb's team. They will look for their forward pack to lead the way again and as backs to help them out.
