"Their Fan Base is Grown as Toxic as Ever"-Chase Elliott Picks San Francisco 49ers to “Win it All”, Calls Cowboys Making it “Foolish”

Chase Elliott loves football. May it be his constant support for the Georgia Bulldogs in college football leagues, or his excitement for the NFL playoffs. He surely enjoys a good football match. But, ever wondered what would Elliott do if asked to place a wager on an NFL match?

The Garage Guys decided to find out for all. In his appearance on the Garage Talk, last week, Chase Elliott revealed his pick for a Dallas Cowboys vs San Francisco 49ers match during the divisional round of the NFL playoffs. And honestly, his choice was backed up by a lot of football passion!

During the newest edition of the Wheelman Wagers, host Dale Tanhardt asked Elliott to place his bet on a few NFL playoff matches. After placing a bet on the New York Giants against Philadelphia Eagles, it was time for Elliott to choose between the Cowboys and the 49ers.

And the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series champion decided to go with the 49ers. Explaining why he decided to go with them, Elliott said,

“I would lean towards San Francisco. I think they’re gonna be tough, I think they cover the three-and-a-half (betting spread). And honestly, I don’t think it’s a stretch to think they can’t win it all. I think a star could have been born out there.”

Well, that was interesting. Considering Elliott’s prediction was right. On Monday, the 49ers actually beat the Cowboys with a 19-12 score. So, yeah, Chase won that bet! However, there was someone who lost it.

DIVE DEEPER

During the interview, the Garage Talk co-host Guy Chase did not agree to get on board with Elliott on this one.

Chase Elliott calls the idea of Cowboys making it ‘Foolish’

Disagreeing with Elliott’s pick of the San Francisco 49ers, co-host Guy Chase stated that he would go with the Dallas Cowboys instead. He explained,

“I think that a star is already out there, though. And I feel weird. I might be wrong about this. I just have this weird feeling that the Cowboys are actually gonna make it. Their fan base is grown as toxic as ever.”

And funnily enough, Elliott’s cutely vehement interruptions met Guy’s explanation. Disagreeing with Guy, Elliott said, “I think it foolish… I think you’re foolish.”

Interestingly, Guy continued to defend his decision with a twisted explanation of why he would like the Cowboys to get to the Super Bowl and lose. However, Elliott made it clear that he didn’t see any of it happening. And fortunately for him, the other co-host, Dale Tanhardt, agreed and placed the bet on the San Francisco 49ers.
