These are the players the Habs should target in trades in 2022-23

Montreal Canadiens are over the cap and need to make some changes to their roster. Pierre-Luc Dubois is one of the players who could be a good fit for the Habs. He is an unrestricted free agent in 2024. The Habs could target him in a trade during the 2022–23 season or in the days leading up to it.

Vitali Kravtsov was drafted by the Rangers at the 2018 NHL draft. He was loaned to Traktor Chelyabinsk last season. The Rangers are in a win-now mode and trading him to the Habs would make sense.

Anthony Beauvillier has not scored more than 39 points in any of his seven seasons on Long Island. If Josh Anderson, Jonathan Drouin, Mike Hoffman and Joel Armia are on their way out, this could create space on the wing for Beauvilleer to learn under Marty St. Louis.

The Habs should target Tyson Barrie in a trade in 2022-23. He's a true blue power play quarterback and could boost the team's offense. The Oilers can no longer afford him at his $4.5-million AAV cap hit.

The Montreal Canadiens need to sign a goalie prospect. Carey Price is probably retiring. Devon Levi is a prospect with the Buffalo Sabres organization. Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen is with Buffalo. Lukas Dostal is owned by Anaheim. Dustin Wolf is in Calgary. Pyotr Kochetkov is playing for Carolina.
