This Morning’s Josie Gibson reveals huge Ascot win after outside bet

JOSIE Gibson had plenty to celebrate at Royal Ascot after becoming the day's biggest celebrity winner with a huge outside bet.

The This Morning star, 38, pocketed £1700 with a wager on 22/1 Jimi Hendrix to win the Royal Hunt Cup at Ascot on Wednesday.

A source said: “Everyone told her she was mad to do it but she fancied a flutter. She didn’t put a lot on, just a throwaway amount and ended up winning £1700.”

Following the race - a flat handicap race run over the distance of one mile -  Josie was seen fist pumping the air and screaming in delight.

Josie spent the day at the races alongside some of her ITV pals including Amanda Holden,Lorraine Kelly and Charlene White, who said Gibson was “a horse racing wizard”.

She wrapped on her shift covering the festival for the daytime show before enjoying the sunshine.

The Royal Hunt Cup is one of the biggest betting heats of the entire five-day meeting and the race was Jimi Hendrix’s second win of the season having landed Newbury’s Spring Cup in April.

The four-year-old’s jockey, Rossa Ryan said afterwards: “I get the easy job of riding but it’s the lads behind the scenes who do all the work. This one’s for them.”

Josie looked slimmer than ever in a pretty pink dress and jaunty pink hat.

She bumped into ITV host Ed Chamberlain and joked she was glad to see him instead of Love Islander and race expert Chris Hughes, who famously took the mickey out of her outfit.

At the weekend Josie stunned fans with her impressive weight loss as she slipped into a plunging red dress for a charity event.

She thanked attendees of the Stars of Social Care Awards, which she hosted over two nights inside the London Marriott Hotel.

Josie's star continues to rise since she won the eleventh series of Big Brother in 2010.

Last week The Sun revealed she was in talks to join this year's series of I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! down under.
