Thomas Tuchel, Chelsea FC ownership were at odds over Cristiano Ronaldo transfer

Cristiano Ronaldo stayed at Manchester United despite being linked to Bayern Munich and Chelsea FC. Todd Boehly wanted to bring Ronaldo to West London, but was refused by then-Blues coach Thomas Tuchel.

Thomas Tuchel and Chelsea FC were at odds over Cristiano Ronaldo transfer. Bayern Munich wanted to sign him after Robert Lewandowski's departure to FC Barcelona. Chelsea needed a striker and had already spent big on Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner. Tuchell was sacked earlier this week and has only just secured Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as a replacement. Ronaldo is currently playing in the Europa League for Manchester United. He didn't even need to agree to the deal. He was just a small part of the fallout.
