Three key subplots in Celtic’s League Cup defence

Celtic begin the defence of their League Cup crown with a tricky away tie in Dingwall against Ross County on Wednesday night. Ange Postecoglou's side arrive in the Highlands in fine fettle after annihilating Dundee United 9-0 at Tannadice on Sunday.

Celtic are the current holders of the League Cup. They beat Dundee United 9-0 in the previous edition. Malky Mackay's team are also the defending champions. It will take something special or incredibly fortunate to prevent the Hoops from making it two League Cups in a row.

Celtic are preparing for their League Cup tie against Ross County. Abada was outstanding against Dundee United. He is the first name on the teamsheet to face Ross. He has already scored in the 3-1 Premiership win against Dingwall.

Ross County take on Celtic in the Scottish League Cup semi-final. Ross County have won the cup twice in recent years. Celtic won last season's Scottish Premiership on a 97th minute header from Anthony Ralston.
