The NHL season has been great so far. Many players have impressed their teams. Here are three players who have been playing outstanding hockey.

Nico Hischier was drafted by the New Jersey Devils in 2017. He has 22 points in 18 games this season and is on pace to score 100 points this year. His underrating skating ability and excellent hockey IQ make him special. The Devils control play with him on the ice and generate 66% of the expected goals share. Erik Karlsson is putting on a show for the ages this season. He is leading all defensemen in scoring with 29 points in 21 games played. Since the departure of Brent Burns, Karlsson's role has been elevated. San Jose has scored 66.7 percent of their goals when he's on the ice. The team is struggling to make the playoffs. If Karlshuss continues to play at this pace, the Sharks could get a nice ransom for him. The next best player on Sanjay is Timo Meier with 18 points.

Logan Thompson has been playing well for the Vegas Golden Knights this season. The team is third in the NHL with a record of 15-4-1. Thompson's calm nature and sound play have been crucial to their success. He has allowed only 0.046 rebounds per save this year. He leads in puck freezes above expected at 20.5. It's unknown who will start for Vegas in future. Robin Lehner is out for rest of the 2022-23 season with hip surgery. His replacement may be Logan Thompson.
