The Los Angeles Clippers aren’t very interested in having Paul George or Kawhi Leonard play basketball games, but they’ll make up for all the load management if they keep going into overtime.

They’ve played three overtime periods in their last two games and ended up losing both to fall to 33-30 and 0-2 since adding Russell Westbrook.

The Western Conference is crowded, but after three straight losses, the Minnesota Timberwolves might be falling out of it. They are currently the nine seed at 31-32 with just a half game of separation between them and the 11th seed. Both of these teams need a win badly, so let’s check out the odds for this one in LA.

Kawhi Leonard might have just turned into vintage Kawhi Leonard. Against the Kings on Friday he had 44 points, four rebounds and four assists in 46 minutes.

Then against Denver on Sunday he had 33 points and six rebounds in 39 minutes.

There’s no team that has devalued the regular season more than the Clippers, so I don’t think they’re worried about two losses in a row, I think they’re concerned about Kawhi logging those types of minutes in two straight games. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if he rested, or at least was limited tonight.

Meanwhile the Timberwolves are desperate. They didn’t have Rudy Gobert against Golden State on Sunday, but Naz Reid stepped up with 30 points in the loss.

Anthony Edwards was held to just 12 points. Minnesota is 1-4 against the spread in its last five games.

There is a worry about the Wolves’ ability to defend the 3-point line against LA. They are 22nd in opponent 3-point percentage, 36.8% while LA shoots 38.1% which is fifth best. Despite that, I think the Clippers will be too conservative with their stars after the weekend that was.
