Game Info: Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at 7:30 pm (Scotiabank Arena)

Betting Odds: Toronto Raptors +1.5 -- Over/Under: 215.5

The Minnesota Timberwolves and the Toronto Raptors collide at the Scotiabank Arena on Wednesday night in NBA action.

Minnesota Timberwolves Betting Preview

The Minnesota Timberwolves will have their eyes on a playoff berth this time round, after winning seven of their last 10 games of the regular season to finish with a 42-40 record. The Timberwolves' management didn't make any big moves in the offseason, but they did double down and they inked Anthony Edwards to a five-year deal and Naz Reid to a three-year deal. Assuming that the Timberwolves continue to improve, they could make a run this season, but I think we're going to have to see more from Rudy Gobert, Mike Conley and Karl-Anthony Towns before we can call them contenders.

Toronto Raptors Betting Preview

Meanwhile, the Toronto Raptors will be hoping to move on from a forgettable season where they finished with a 41-41 record to miss out on the playoffs after losing in the home Play-In game. The Raptors' management seem to be stuck in limbo, as they let Fred VanVleet go for nothing, only to sign Dennis Schroder to a two-year deal. Jakob Poeltl should have a big season for his new team, but the success of this team lies heavily on the shoulders of Pascal Siakam.

Trends

The total has gone UNDER in 10 of Minnesota's last 15 games. Minnesota are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games. The total has gone UNDER in 4 of Toronto's last 6 games against Minnesota. Toronto are 11-2 SU in their last 13 games at home.

Peter's Pick

The Timberwolves didn't make any noise in the offseason, but there is plenty to be optimistic about, especially if Edwards or Towns has the breakout season we know they are capable of. The Raptors are stuck between rebuilding and looking to contend, but the late addition of Schroder could prove to be a good moves, especially because of how good he looked when he led Germany to win the FIBA World Cup. You can make an argument for either side here, but the Timberwolves are healthy and I think they will have too much size for the Raptors in this spot.

The pick in this article is the opinion of the writer, not a PickDawgz site consensus.
