Top 5 Football Leagues: Who’s Winning the Upcoming Seasons?

For a football fan, the summer is the most boring time of the year. Most leagues in the Northern Hemisphere (where all the football action happens) take a summer vacation, and the only news to be excited about is the transfers. But the summer break doesn’t take forever – and the lineups of the top teams in Europe’s Top 5 national leagues are beginning to take shape.

We won’t know how well the clubs will perform in the new season, or how seamlessly they’ll integrate the new arrivals. But that’s a matter for pre-match wagers at sites for sport betting Zambia or any other country has to offer. Now, in turn, is the time to take a look at which clubs the bookmakers expect to win their respective national leagues in the new season. So, without further ado, let’s begin.

Paris Saint Germain is the most successful club in France. It is also the richest, able to pay top dollar for the most valuable footballers in the world. Since it was purchased by QSI, it has become the dominant force in French football. It has won every season of Ligue 1 since 2017 except for the 2020-2021 season, which was cancelled.

Bookmakers expect PSG to continue to dominate French football for at least one more season, even without Mbappé, who will either leave or sit out the upcoming season for not signing a new contract with the club.

Italy is another matter altogether. Napoli came in as a surprise champion, winning the Serie A title with five games to spare, leaving behind Inter and Juventus, the two most successful Italian football teams.

Will it defend its title? Maybe, say the bookmakers, but they’re not sure. At this point, they consider Inter to have a better chance of winning the upcoming season, with Napoli not much behind, and a third contender – Juventus – not far behind.

The last season of the Spanish national league felt like a grandiose El Clásico, with Real Madrid and Barcelona competing for the title. Ultimately, the trophy went to Camp Nou. For the upcoming season, the bookies expect nothing less, with one of the two predicted to be victorious. The odds are a bit in Real’s favour, but Barca is not far behind. Bookies expect the title to be decided between the two, with the odds of any other team winning being at the longer side at this time.

The situation in Germany is similar to that in France: Bayern Munich didn’t lose the title since the 2011-2012 season when they came in runners-up behind Borussia Dortmund. The Bavarian team strengthened its squad with talent from its own ranks (it had half a dozen players out on loans) and didn’t lose any of its top players so far. If all goes well, Bayern will pocket its 12th title next year.

The last Premier League season was pretty unpredictable, and Manchester City didn’t win by a comfortable margin. Now, it’s preparing for another tough season, with its main rivals already preparing to attack its position by signing top talent from around the continent. Arsenal snatched Kai Havertz from Chelsea this year, and Liverpool signed Szoboszlai. Still, the bookies consider Man City to be the favourite in the coming season, with its rivals having much longer odds of victory.

The summer transfer season is far from being over. There can still be spectacular transfers happening – remember, the fate of Mbappé, for example, is still not decided, and other star players could also switch teams before the transfer window closes. In any case, we can expect an exciting and action-packed season to begin in late August and early September. May the odds always be in our favour!
