Tour de France Odds, Picks, and Best Bets for Stage 18
Primoz Roglic is closing on Tadej Pogacar in Tour de France. Primoz has a 57-second lead going into Thursday's final stage in the Alps and Saturday's time trial. Miguel Ángel López won Stage 17 on Wednesday.
The Stage 18 is a mountain trek from Meribel to La Roche-sur-Foron. There are many climbs and there is an opportunity for a big move in the GC standings.
There are seven riders within 4.5 minutes of the lead. An attack on both ends could be a problem for the leader. It is the last stage for an elite climber to taste victory or a top descender to show what he does best.
Marc Hirschi won Stage 12 and Daniel Felipe Martinez won the Stage 13. Jumbo-Visma will be looking for rest and respond to any moves.
Pogacar needs to win the race on Thursday to put the final day in the Alps out of reach. Roglic is always a viable winner because he is the top rider on the best team.
Ángel López won Stage 17 on Wednesday. Julian Alaphilippe has not been a good Tour de France winner. He is a great descender and could make a move on the final descent.
