TRACY CORTEZ VS JASMINE JASUDAVICIUS LOWDOWN

Tracy Cortez (10-1) has been far too inactive for everyone’s liking only gracing the octagon four times since her debut in 2019. That was against Vanessa Melo who she beat via unanimous decision and then went on to earn three more decisions over Stephanie Egger (2020), Justine Kish (2021) and most recently Melissa Gatto (2022). She was then scheduled to fight Amanda Ribas back in December last year only to get pulled from the fight after the weigh ins.

Jasmine Jasudavicius (9-2) has been very active on the other hand and has already racked up four UFC bouts since her debut last year. She started her UFC account by beating Kay Hansen via unanimous decision before losing one to Natalia Silva (2022) five months later. However, she responded with two more unanimous decisions over Gabriella Fernandes (2023) and Miranda Maverick (2023).

TRACY CORTEZ VS JASMINE JASUDAVICIUS PREDICTION

This is an interesting match-up as they both hail from wrestling backgrounds. Jasudavicius was later to the game, but they have similar MMA experience with Cortez boasting more credible wins.

They both hit over two takedowns per fight and enjoy a lot of time pounding on their opponents or hunting a submission. Jasudavicius may have the slight edge when it comes to wrestling, but Cortez has better jiu-jitsu, so it will be very interesting to see them tangle on the mat. That said, their skills are likely to cancel each other forcing a stand-up battle.

When these types of skill cancel each other out, decisions are very likely and when you consider the fact that all eight of their combine UFC bouts have gone to the bell, a decision is almost a formality.

We are backing Jasudavicius as she is the better striker and we do not know how Cortez’s preparations have gone since the drama of her drop out at UFC on ESPN 42.

Prediction: Jasudavicius via Decision
