Trail Blazers vs Clippers Prediction

The Los Angeles Clippers play host to the Portland Trail at the Crypto.com Arena on Saturday night.

The Portland Trail Blazers have been in terrible shape as they’ve lost 13 of their last 15 games overall and they will be hoping to snap a two-game skid after falling just short to the lowly Spurs in a 129-127 road loss on Thursday. Kevin Knox led the team with 24 points off the bench, Trendon Watford and Jeenathan Williams scored 16 points each while Drew Eubanks scored 23 points, nine rebounds and five blocks. As a team, the Trail Blazers shot 53 percent from the field and 10 of 28 from the 3-point line as they looked to be in control when they poured in 39 points in the third quarter to take a nine-point lead, only to get run down in the fourth quarter where the Spurs closed the final 5:06 on a 19-8 run to steal the game from them in the end.

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Clippers have been in decent shape as they’ve won three of their past five games and they will be eager to stay hot after taking down the Lakers in a 125-118 home win on Wednesday. Norman Powell led the team with 27 points off the bench, Kawhi Leonard added 25 points with seven rebounds and four assists while Ivica Zubac chipped in with 17 points and 13 rebounds. As a team, the Clippers shot 52 percent from the field and 16 of 36 from the 3-point line as they jumped all over the Lakers from the start and were never really in trouble after exploding for 71 points in the first half.

Looking at the betting trends, the Trail Blazers are 4-0 ATS in their last four road games and 7-18-1 ATS in their last 26 games against a team with a winning record. The Clippers are 6-1 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a losing record and 1-4 ATS in their last five games following a win.

Head to head, the Trail Blazers are 0-6 ATS in the last six meetings in Los Angeles and the Trail Blazers are 0-4 ATS in the last four meetings overall.

The Trail Blazers are still missing a long list of players including Anfernee Simons, Jusuf Nurkic, Damian Lillard and Jerami Grant, while the Clippers are still missing Paul George and Marcus Morris. The Trail Blazers have been going with their second and third string lineups for a while now so it’s not too surprising the way they loss to the Spurs on Thursday. The Clippers are clearly the team in better form in this matchup and they were able to take down their rivals in a solid win on Wednesday, so I’m looking at the Clippers to stay hot with another win and cover at home.
