Los Angeles Clippers take on the Portland Trail Blazers at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle on Monday. Los Angeles is hoping a lack of injuries and the addition of a former All-Star will help it contend in the Western Conference this season. Portland is trying to bounce back from a non-playoff season for the first time in nine seasons.

Portland Trail Blazers didn't make the postseason last season. Damian Lillard played just 29 games due to injury. The team added Jerami Grant and Gary Payton II from the Detroit Pistons and Golden State Warriors. Center Jusuf Nurkic is also coming off a season-ending injury and he didn’t play after February.

The LA Clippers have had great expectations since adding Paul George and Kawhi Leonard to their roster in the 2019 offseason. Kawhhi was injured in 2021 playoffs and hasn't played since, but he's expected to be ready for this season. PaulGeorge is out for Monday's game against R.A. Maccabi. John Wall was acquired in an offseason deal.
