Trail Blazers vs Hawks Prediction

The Atlanta Hawks play host to the Portland Trail Blazers at the State Farm Arena on Friday night.

The Portland Trail Blazers have been struggling lately as they’ve lost four of their last five games overall and they will be eager to avoid a third straight defeat after getting beaten by the Pelicans in a 121-110 loss on Wednesday. Damian Lillard led the team with 41 points on 12 of 22 shooting, Jerami Grant added 28 points while Cameron Reddish chipped in with 13 points off the bench. As a team, the Trail Blazers shot 44 percent from the field and 11 of 38 from the 3-point line which was enough to lead the Pelicans for a majority of the contest, before they went cold and scored just 19 points in the fourth quarter to allow the Pelicans to slip away in the end.

Meanwhile, the Atlanta Hawks have been in decent form as they’ve won four of their last seven games overall and they will be looking to bounce back after falling just short to the Wizards in a 119-116 loss on Tuesday. Trae Young led the team with 31 points and seven assists, Bogdan Bogdanovic added 16 points off the bench while Dejounte Murray chipped in with 15 points and five assists. As a team, the Hawks shot 46 percent from the field and 13 of 35 from the 3-point line as they looked to be in control when they built a eight-point lead in the fourth quarter, only to allow the Wizards to close the final 7:59 on a 23-12 run to fall short in the end.

Looking at the betting trends, the Trail Blazers are 2-11 ATS in their last 13 road games, 4-10-1 ATS in their last 15 games following a loss and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall. The Hawks are 5-2 ATS in their last seven games following a loss and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall.

Head to head, the over is 4-0 in the last four meetings overall and the Trail Blazers are 7-3 ATS in the last 10 meetings overall.

The Trail Blazers are again missing a few players as Jusuf Nurkic, Justise Winslow and Anfernee Simons are all listed on the injury report, while the Hawks are keeping an eye on Trae Young who is listed as probable for this one. The Trail Blazers have really struggled to keep their heads above water despite Lillard’s best efforts and it’s because they’re defense as really struggled with all the injuries piling up. The Hawks are coming into this one as the team in better form and they should be well-rested as they haven’t played since Tuesday. The line is a little hefty in this one, but I think the Hawks take care of business at home in this spot.
