Trainer Pierre Ng lands first winner with Super Happy Valley success: ‘it’s a very good feeling’
Pierre Ng Pang-chi has won his first race as a trainer. His horse Super Commander won the opening event of the Happy Valley meeting. Luke Ferraris rode him to victory. He also won a race with Caspar Fownes-trained Winning Icey. Ferraris had 20 winners last season. It was his second Hong Kong season and he finished 14th in the jockeys’ premiership. The second event was the Class Four Chung Hom Kok Handicap (1,200m). It came as the surprise for punters. They had paid $31 for the horse.
