Denver Nuggets vs Miami Heat @ Miami-Dade Arena

We expected big things from the Denver Nuggets and they’re doing us proud. They are 39-18 after beating Charlotte on the road and they’re eyeing another win against the Heat.

They have already beaten the Heat 124-119 earlier this season at home, and although they’re not as good on the road, they are improving in that area.

However, the Heat have won three on the bounce and they’re trending in the right direction.  They won against the Pacers, Rockets, and Magic, so they haven’t been beating top teams, but it’s enough to get the confidence levels up.

The wins haven’t been convincing, including winning by five against the Pacers, two against the Rockets, and needing overtime to beat Orlando. They face a much tougher test against the Nuggets, but the Heat are 19-9 at home.

Bookmakers have a close game framed, but we’re taking the Nuggets to win.

New Orleans Pelicans vs Oklahoma City Thunder @ Paycom Centre

We like what the Oklahoma City Thunder are doing and they’re close to posting a winning record.

They are 27-28 following wins over the Lakers and Trail Blazers, which came on the road and they scored totals of 133 and 138 points.

The offence is firing for the Thunder, who also scored 153 points when beating the Rockets, so there is plenty of upside.

They play a Pelicans team without Zion Williamson, which should help with scoring in the paint. Williamson’s absence was felt in a 118-107 loss to the Cavaliers last week, so they could struggle in the lead-up to the All-Star break.

However, the Pelicans are 2-0 against the Thunder. The most recent win came on the road with a 128-125 overtime victory, but there was nothing separating them.

With Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Josh Giddey playing superb basketball, we’re picking the Thunder to notch their first win over the Pelicans and improve to a .500 record.

Washington Wizards vs Golden State Warriors @ Chase Centre

Whenever Steph Curry is injured, the talk is about whether the Golden State Warriors can win without him.

After losing to the Trail Blazers and Lakers, that question might have been answered and that’s bad news for the Warriors, who are struggling at 28-28.

They welcome the Washington Wizards, who have a losing record but have looked better recently with wins over the Charlotte Hornets and Indiana Pacers.

Beating the likes of Klay Thompson and Draymond Green isn’t easy, but Washington won’t get a better chance to beat the Warriors and punters could get value odds.

If Kristaps Porzingis can score in the paint, it should be enough to see Washington win. Without Curry, the Warriors lose a huge part of their offence and Thompson isn’t playing well enough to make up for the loss.
