Twins vault to fifth pick in MLB Draft Lottery

The Twins won the MLB Draft Lottery on Tuesday night. They will take No. 5 overall, their first top-five pick since 2017. The team took current No 2 prospect Royce Lewis with the No 1 overall pick. The Lotteries were organized to deter tanking by non-competitive teams.

Twins are the fifth pick in MLB Draft Lottery. Pirates, Nationals, Tigers, Rangers and Twins are tied for the best odds.

Twins won the MLB Draft Lottery with 78-84 odds, while A's had 16.5% odds. They will get the No. 6 pick, ahead of the A’s who will pick first. The importance of this top-five pick for the Twins can't be understated. It will help them bolster the top of their farm system. Minnesota has traded away four of its top five picks in the last year.  The team's scouting group had already been preparing for this scenario. it will affect their fall scouting coverage. the team has already prepared for it. and is feeling prepared to take advantage of it, as Johnson said.
