SP Brandon Williamson (4-5) gave up three runs in four innings and took the loss for the Reds, who fell to 78-73 on the year. 

Cincinnati manager David Bell has yet to announce a starting pitcher for the series opener. The Reds lack quality options on a staff that ranks 24th in the majors with a 4.71 ERA and a subpar 1.40 WHIP.

Minnesota DH Byron Buxton is still recovering from knee and hamstring injuries with no official timetable ro return. Through 150 games, Minnesota ranks 11th in OPS and 12th in runs scored.
