Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua fight will happen in UK says Frank Warren as he makes huge PPV prediction

Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua WILL happen in the UK if the fight can be made, Frank Warren confirmed to talkSPORT.

The Gypsy King surprisingly offered AJ the chance for a shot at the WBC heavyweight title in a mouth-watering all-British clash boxing fans have been waiting for.

It came after Oleksandr Usyk revealed that he would not be fighting again in 2022, shelving plans for an undisputed fight with Fury until next year.

The WBC champion wants to fight again before the end of the year and Joshua is now in the frame.

Eddie Hearn confirmed on talkSPORT that contact had been made between the two camps, while Warren revealed that a written offer was made on Tuesday.

Fury’s co-promoter also confirmed that the Gypsy King is insistent on it happening in the UK, regardless of any big money offers that may come in from elsewhere.

Warren told talkSPORT: “It will be in the UK and hopefully in November. That’s what we are looking at.”

He continued: “How we make it work is that Tyson insists the fight is in the UK. So it’s got to work. He wants to fight here and deliver to the British fans.

“It will deliver a significant gate because there is massive interest from the British public and it will break all pay-per-view records.

“Whatever it generates is what it is worth.”

Understandably, Warren did not want to go into specifics of figures with the offer not yet over to AJ’s camp.

However, he believes it has the potential to break numerous records.

He added: “Once they confirm they are interest and accept the position where we are, we will work collectively to maximise the income between us.

“It depends what the price of the fight is, who knows what it would be price at. I personally think it could hit two million buys.

“The point is Tyson wants to fight here, that’s what he has said. He has said on numerous occasions that if he fights him he wants to fight him in the UK.”

Hearn also spoke about it potentially being in the UK and believes the options for venues would be limited.

He told the Sports Breakfast: “That time of year you only really have one choice and that is the Millennium Stadium. You are leaving a huge amount of money behind to do it in the UK.

“Guess what, these two also have a huge amount of money.

“When we did the Usyk fight it was a 50/50 split and the contract states you have to maximise the revenue of the show.

“If you have three times the money to do it somewhere else, then obviously Usyk isn’t going to go in AJ’s backyard in London to fight.

“These are all things to be considered. In this deal, maybe they both go ‘we aren’t so bothered by the money, let’s do it in the UK’.
