UAB Football Preview Q&A with BlazerPod’s John Duncan

Liberty plays host to UAB this Saturday at 6 p.m. Kickoff is televised on ESPN+. The game is a revenge game for Liberty's loss to the Blazers last year. John Duncan of the Blazer Victory Podcast gives his opinion on this year's Uab team.

This year's UAB football team is arguably the most talented in program history. Bill Clark stepped down before the season because of back issues. Interim head coach Bryant Vincent has done a great job getting the team ready for the year.

Dylan Hopkins played well in the Independence Bowl against BYU. He had surgery on his non-throwing shoulder after last year's season. Baylor transfer Jacob Zeno came in and took over the starting role. They will play each other on Saturday night.

DeWayne McBride is the biggest X factor on the UAB offense. Noah Wilder and Starling Thomas V are the leading tacklers on Uab's defense. JD thinks that DeWayn McBride is one of the most talented running backs in the country.

The final record of UAB depends heavily on the results of the game at Liberty. If they win the match, they can get to 10-2, if they lose, it will be 9-3.

JD's breakout players for the 2022 UAB football team are running back Jermaine "Skull" Brown and defensive tackle Fish McWilliams. Uab has always had great defensive lines since the program returned back in 2017.

JD predicts UAB will beat Liberty 24-24. Uab's rushing attack will be too much for Liberty to stop for 4 quarters.
