UCLA Bruins expert previews the Arizona game, makes a score prediction

Arizona is on a five-game losing streak against ranked opponents. The Wildcats have dropped the first four games. UCLA is the most explosive team in the Pac-12, averaging 40.8 points per game.

Thompson-Robinson came to UCLA behind his peers and had to undergo a lot of development for some bad UCLA teams during his first few years. He didn't start at quarterback for his high school until his senior year. Dorlis believes Thompson- Robinson's development is due to his experience and better understanding of what he can and cannot do.

UCLA ran for 392 yards against Arizona State. Chip Kelly's offense is very effective in the run game. UCLA has struggled to find a secondary option behind Zach Charbonnet this season. Keegan Jones and Kazmeir Allen are the only players who have been consistent. The game against the Sun Devils was an aberration for UCLA. The team's backups are starting to figure out their roles.

Jake Bobo has taken over the role Kyle Philips filled for the Bruins last year. He has the surest hands of the receivers and is one of best route runners in the conference. He is also a dependable option for Dorian Thompson-Robinson to target if needed.

UCLA has the highest-graded defense in the Pac-12. The Bruins' biggest strength is their offense. UCLA's defensive numbers are misleading because the conference is not very good defensively. UCLA won over Washington and Utah. Arizona is a team that can keep pace with the Bruins. If the opposing team can't keep up with them, the defense struggles. It's a game plan that Kelly used at Oregon.

Chip Kelly started 10-21 at UCLA and lost his first six nonconference games. He's 16-5 the past two seasons and has the Bruins ranked in the top 10 twice this fall. In 2019, the transfer portal did not exist. Kelly has been able to recruit players for the program.

Arizona is playing at the Rose Bowl for the first time since 2010. Five of Arizona's coaches have UCLA ties. Arizona is a program on the rise, but they are still at a talent disadvantage. UCLA should win by a similar score to what they did to ASU. The score is probably around 49-38.
