UConn men’s basketball 2022-23 opponent preview: Creighton

Creighton finished the season 23-12 and 12-7 in the Big East. Creighton won 20-point over Villanova and two close wins over UConn. Ryan Nembhard won Big Earguard of the Year. Arthur Kaluma and Ryan Kalkbrenner were also key players for Creevil. They lost to Villova in BigEargus Tournament and to Kansas in NCAA Tournament.

Creighton is ranked No. 9 in the preseason AP poll. Creighton lost Alex O'Connell and Ryan Hawkins, but brought back the entire core of the team. Baylor Scheierman is a 6-foot-7 senior guard who shot 46 percent from 3-point range last season. He was the only player in Division I to lead his team in assists and rebounds last year. Kalkbrenner was named to the Preseason All-Big East First Team. Adama Sanogo is on the Kareem Abdul Jabbar Award Watchlist.

Creighton is the favorite to win the Big East this season. Creighton has a lot of talent, especially with Nembhard, Kaluma and Kalkbrenner back and the addition of transfer Scheierman.
