UFC Fight Night: Holloway vs. Zombie

Featherweight contenders Max Holloway and Chan Sung Jung will take center stage at the upcoming UFC Fight Night this Saturday.

Holloway, who is one of the greatest featherweights of all time, has won three of his last four bouts since challenging Alexander Volkanovski for the title.

The Korean Zombie is 4-2 in his last half-dozen outings, losing via TKO to the champ is his most recent appearance.

Event details:

  • Who: Max Holloway (-800) vs. Chan Sung Jung (+550)
  • What: UFC Fight Night
  • When: Saturday, August 26 at 8:00 a.m. ET (main card)
  • Where: Singapore Indoor Stadium, Singapore

The rest of this UFC Fight Card features a dozen matchups, including a light heavyweight bout between contenders Anthony Smith and Ryan Spann.

Below, you will find our three favorite bets to make for the UFC Fight Night: Holloway vs. The Korean Zombie event:

Holloway is an incredibly large favorite to win this fight, and it makes sense. If you were to put the featherweight division into tiers, Holloway would be amongst the few top contenders, while TKZ would be in the next tier down. Now, that’s not to say Chan Sung Jung doesn’t have a chance.

We can’t really envision a scenario in which Holloway gets out-matched on the feet in this fight. Meanwhile, TKZ dominating Holloway on the ground also seems very unlikely, making it difficult for us to find a way that he’ll win.

At -800 odds, taking Holloway on the moneyline is pointless. That’s why we’re taking him to finish The Korean Zombie one way or another.

A $20 wager at -125 odds will yield a $36.00 payout.

This light heavyweight co-main event is a rematch of a bout that took place back in September 2021, which Anthony Smith won via first-round submission.

Since then, Smith has lost two straight contests, including a decision defeat to Johnny Walker this past March. Conversely, Spann has gone 2-1 since his loss to Smith, beating Ion Cutelaba and Dominick Reyes by way of stoppage.

Outrageously, all of Spann’s six last fights have ended in the first round. Matchups make fights, and it’s possible that Smith just has Spann’s number, but that’s not our belief in this case. We think Spann will make adjustments this time around and finish the aging Smith.

A $20 wager at +175 odds will yield a $55.00 payout.

A women’s flyweight showdown is slated to take place between rising star Erin Blanchfield and former title challenger Taila Santos. The former is 5-0 inside the octagon, while the latter is 4-2 with a split-decision loss to champion Valentina Shevchenko. We like the young Blanchfield to earn another win.

Talented featherweight Giga Chikadze is returning to action following a layoff that extended over 18 months. He is set to face veteran Alex Caceres, who has won seven of his last eight bouts. Notably, he has earned performance bonuses in both of his two appearances. Chikadze is thought to have world-title-caliber skills, and we’re taking him to win in his return.

A $20 wager at +137 odds will yield a $47.59 payout.
