United Rugby Championship Schedule In Week 2: Can Leinster Avoid 2nd loss?
Week 1 of the United Rugby Championship saw Zebre Parma come close to breaking a near 18-month losing streak, favorite Leinster fall in Glasgow and defending champion Munster pick up another win.
What will happen in Week 2?
Well, the URC is still looking for its first draw, as none happened in Week 1. The opening week saw teams play lineups that will look quite different later in the season as players return from the 2023 Rugby World Cup.
Leinster, the URC favorite, certainly saw the effect of not having many of its Irish national team players in an 18-point loss to Glasgow Warriors. But others rolled through the missing players, with Connacht (Bundee Aki), Ulster (Steven Kitshoff) and the DHL Stormers (many players) all winning despite their missing stars.

The URC Week 2 Rugby Match Schedule
The slate features another eight games starting at 8 a.m. ET on Saturday, Oct. 28 and 10 a.m. ET on Sunday, Oct. 29.

Saturday, Oct. 28
Ospreys Rugby Vs. Zebre Parma Rugby, Swansea.com Stadium
Zebre has not won a URC game since April 30, 2022, when they beat Dragons RFC 23-18. That’s nearly 18 months of losing. But Zebre got close in Week 1 against Ulster in Italy. Zebre lost 40-36. Zebre had possession in the closing minutes, but Ulster, without its big off-season addition of Steven Kitsoff, held on for the win. Osprey lost to Connacht 34-26 in Northern Ireland to open the season.
Connacht Rugby Vs. Glasgow Warriors, Sportsground
Connacht Rugby won in Week 1 at home. Meanwhile, Glasgow scored a huge win over Leinster in Scotland, 43-25. Someone will lose their first match of the season.
DHL Stormers Vs. Scarlets Rugby, Danie Craven Stadium
The Stormers have several players competing in the Rugby World Cup Final between South Africa and New Zealand later in the day. The Stormers scored a win in Week 1, 35-31, over the Emirates Lions. Now they’ll host Scarlets, which lost 63-21 to the Vodacom Bulls.
Leinster Vs. Hollywoodbets Sharks, RDS Arena
Leinster heads to South Africa to face the Sharks looking to avoid a second-straight loss. Last season, Leinster went 16-1-1. Leinster lost 43-25 to the Warriors to open the season. The Sharks, a team also missing players due the Rugby World Cup, lost to Munster 34-21.
Edinburgh Rugby Vs. Emirates Lions, Hive Stadium
Emirates Lions lost to the Stormers 35-33 in Week 1, while Edinburgh started the new season with a 22-17 victory over Dragons RFC. Edinburgh went 6-0-12 last season, but look to begin the season on a winning streak.
Sunday, Oct 29
Benetton Rugby Vs. Munster Rugby, Stadio Monigo
The defending champions Munster, who opened the season with the second-best odds to do it again, started the season with a 34-21 win over the Sharks. Munster has not lost in URC play since losing at home to Glasgow Warriors 38-26 on March 25. They last finished in a draw in Week 18 of last season. Benetton scored a win in Week 1 as well, 23-22, over Cardiff Rugby. Benetton entered the season with heightened expectations after going 8-0-10 last season.
Dragons RFC Vs. Cardiff Rugby, Rodney Parade
In a clash between Welsh Rugby Union clubs, both teams are looking for their first wins of the season and first win in the Welsh Shield.
Ulster Rugby Vs. Vodacom Bulls, Kingspan Stadium
In what could be the game of the weekend, Ulster hung on to avoid losing in Italy last week to Zebre. The Ulstermen will need to up their game against the Bulls, who scored the biggest win of Week 1 when they crushed Scarlets 63-21 in South Africa.
