Uruguay vs. Brazil betting tips and preview

ThePicks is expanding its articles over the NFL and the NBA. Over the past months, you noticed many MLB and Tennis articles. Now we are also setting our feet on the soccer ground. After our first article with the preview of Ecuador and Colombia, we will see another CONMEBOL World Cup Qualifiers preview here. It is time to see our Uruguay vs. Brazil betting tips.

As many may know, Brazil is in talks to Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti to be their next manager. The position has been vacant since Tite left the team after the 2022 FIFA World Cup. And while everybody waits for the confirmation (or not), Fernando Diniz, Fluminense coach, is juggling between two jobs. He is coaching both the Fluminense and Brazil National Team at the beginning of the Qualifiers.

Brazil is not doing very well so far. Not in the results, but in performance. They are currently in second place in the standings after three games, only behind Argentina. So far, these were Brazil’s results in the Qualifiers for the next WC:

  • Brazil 5×1 Bolivia
  • Peru 0x1 Brazil
  • Brazil 1×1 Venezuela

On the other side, Uruguay is also not doing very well. Their major stars Cavani and Luis Suárez are getting old and they are not even playing in Europe anymore. Because of that, they are not even being called up. The Uruguayan National Team is rebuilding itself. Real Madrid’s Federico Valverde and Liverpool’s Darwin Nuñez are maybe the greatest names of this generation.

After three games, Uruguay has a win, a tie and a loss. That’s enough to put them in fourth so far, which would be enough to be in the next World Cup. These were the results they had so far:

  • Uruguay 3×1 Chile
  • Ecuador 2×1 Uruguay
  • Colombia 2×2 Uruguay

After understanding a little bit of the current scenario, it is time to talk about the odds, and finally get it to our predictions. The first thing to be brought into consideration here is the history between those teams. Brazil has a historical advantage over Uruguay. The last time the “Celeste” beat the “Canarinho” was in 2001.

Since then, Brazil won seven and tied five of the 12 matches they played after that. In fact, Brazil won seven of the last eight games, including four consecutive wins currently. Because of that, our prediction here is simple: Uruguay won’t win. That doesn’t necessarily mean that Brazil will. Take the double chance in Brazil or tie at -450.

However, if you think these odds are too low, we recommend doing a same-game parlay. As you can see in the history of those team’s games, in five of six opportunities, both teams scored. In addition, of the 12 games mentioned without a Uruguay win, in nine both teams also scored. So you could include it in your parlay, bringing the odds up.

  • Pick 1: Draw or Brazil (-450)
  • Pick 2: Both teams to score – Yes (-106)
  • Same Game Parlay: Both mentioned above (+130)
