US Open 2023 Odds And Betting Offers

The fourth and final Grand Slam event on the tennis calendar starts on Monday, 28 August when the 143rd US Open gets under way in New York. The world's best players will be hoping they are crowned champions when the fortnight comes to a close at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.

Carlos Alcaraz is the defending champion in the men's draw, and he is looking to win back-to-back Grand Slam titles after beating Novak Djokovic to land his first Wimbledon title in July. Alcaraz beat fifth seed Casper Ruud in last year's US Open final in four sets, but three-time US Open champion Djokovic is back to battle it out for his 24th Grand Slam title.

Djokovic, who withdrew from last year's tournament because he didn't meet the US government's Covid-19 vaccination policy for non US citizens, will be looking to avenge his Wimbledon final defeat to Alcaraz and win his first US Open since 2018. Djokovic is the pre-tournament favourite with many of the leading tennis betting sites.

In the women's draw, Iga Świątek is looking to put her disappointing Wimbledon tournament behind her when she starts her defence in New York. Świątek was expected to win her fifth Grand Slam title at SW19 last month, but her 14-game winning streak came to an end against Elina Svitolina in the quarter-finals. In last year's US Open final, Świątek beat Ons Jabeur, who also lost this year's Wimbledon final in straight sets to Markéta Vondroušová. But who will be Queen of New York this year? There will be plenty of free bet offers available throughout the tournament, so make the most of them.

The first US Open was contested in 1881 when it was played at Rhode Island. After a couple of different venues, the tournament was moved in 1978 to the newly-built Flushing Meadows in Queens, New York, where it remains to this day.

In the Open era, Jimmy Connors, Pete Sampras and Roger Federer lead the way with five US Open titles. Novak Djokovic can move to within one of that trio of players if he can be the last player standing this year. In the women's draw, Americans Chris Evert and Serena Williams have each won six US Opens.

The US Open is a chance for players to end the year on a high by winning the final Grand Slam tournament. A total of 128 players have qualified for the men and women's draw, all with aspirations to end the fortnight as champions, and that includes qualifiers. The last qualifier to win the US Open was Britain's Emma Raducanu who shocked the tennis world in 2021 to become the first male or female qualifier to win a Grand Slam tournament in the Open era.

There are only four chances to win a Grand Slam tournament every year, and the final opportunity starts in New York next week. All that needs to be done is win seven matches. Sounds easy, but there are a lot of factors that can come into play.

Not only is the US Open a chance to land a Grand Slam title, it's also a chance for those not expected to win the tournament, to boost their earnings and world rankings. With a total prize fund of £51.4m ($65m), this fortnight can turn an average season into a very profitable one. You'll find competitive odds at the leading UK betting sites from the start to the end of the US Open fortnight.
