US Open Golf Odds: Favorites, picks, predictions and more for this weekend's major tournament

The 2023 US Open is almost upon us and there could be even more attention on it than usual. After the recent announcement of a highly controversial merger between the PGA Tour and LIV Golf, the entire sport seems to be in turmoil.

With that dramatic backdrop, there will be plenty of golfers aiming to take victory at the Los Angeles Country Club in the US Open, with the sport returning to the media capital of the west coast.

The 2023 US Open gets underway on Thursday and it will be the city of Los Angeles' first major championship in 28 years.

There are plenty of huge names getting ready to compete at the US Open this year, such as Jon Rahm, Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, Patrick Cantlay and Brooks Koepka.

Scheffler is the current world number one and he is the bookies' favourite to win the US Open this weekend, currently sitting at 8/1 odds.

He hasn't won it before, only winning one major by taking the Masters in 2022, but he arrives in California in good form.

  • Scottie Scheffler: 8/1
  • Jon Rahm: 11/1
  • Brooks Koepka: 13/1
  • Rory McIlroy: 15/1
  • Patrick Cantlay: 19/1
  • Viktor Hovland: 19/1
  • Xander Schauffele: 23/1
  • Jordan Spieth: 26/1
  • Cameron Smith: 29/1
  • Collin Morikawa: 30/1

A prediction model used by CBS has been very reliable in the past and it believes that six-time PGA Tour champion Max Homa will not even crack the top 10, despite him being one of the fan favorites at this tournament.

Another surprising prediction is that Collin Morikawa, who is a 30-1 longshot right now, is going to come close to winning the title.
