USC-Tulane preview: Can Green Wave stop Heisman winner Caleb Williams?

USC-Tulane is playing at 12 p.m. today at AT&T Stadium.

USC defeated Tulane 20-13 on Dec. 21, 1946.

USC lost to Utah in the Pac-12 title game. Tulane won two games last season. The Green Wave are the American Athletic Conference champions. USC and former Oklahoma coach Lincoln Riley were in CFP conversation until the season's final weekend.

Caleb Williams is the Heisman winner and the starting quarterback for USC. He suffered a hamstring injury in the Pac-12 Championship loss to Utah. Tulane's defense is focusing on stopping him. USC will be without its leading receiver Jordan Addison and its top rusher Travis Dye. The success of the defense will come down to its ability to tackle effectively.

Tulane is playing in the Cotton Bowl. The Green Wave are going to play against USC. GreenWave running back Tyjae Spears has seven straight games with at least 120 rushing yards. Quarterback Michael Pratt had a season-high 394 yards passing and four touchdowns in American Athletic Conference title game win over Central Florida.

Caleb Williams is the winner of the Heisman Trophy. He has been fantastic this season. If he's good to go, it will be hard for Tulane to cap off its magical season with a New Year's Six Bowl win.
