Victor Osimhen Next Club Odds: Man United favourites to nab Napoli hotshot

Erling Haaland's exploits in rewriting the rulebook of goalscoring in light blue in England for a title contending side may be hogging most headlines, but there is another striker posting incredible numbers in one of Europe's big five leagues who play their home games in the same colours.

Victor Osimhen's goals have rocketed Napoli into an almost unassailable lead in Serie A, along with the brilliance of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (yes I did have to google his name), and he is at the top of many of Europe's top teams' shopping lists when they are hunting their next number nine.

He won't come cheap and Napoli are notoriously hard to negotiate with, and they could yet still claim an inaugural Champions League title this campaign. However, this will not perturb the big boys of European football and, along with some other betting sites, BetVictor are offering odds on Osimhen's next club. Here we take a look at a few of his potential options...

It is no secret that Erik ten Hag has made recruiting a star striker his number one priority in the coming summer transfer window.

Whether United will be in the hands of Qatar, Sir Jim Radcliffe, a totally new entity or still under Glazer oppression remains to be seen, but a club with such commercial might will have a serious war chest for recruitment.

They will need it too, if they are to pry Osimhen from Napoli's fingers they will need to pay a massive fee, probably north of £100m, but United can afford this and at the age of 24 Osimhen could be a superb investment to lead the line for the next decade.

United's spending power could be astronomical if Qatar take over, and even if not they look set to qualify for the Champions League which will be a welcome boost to the coffers.

At 4/1, despite being favourites, United seem Osimhen's most likely destination by far and this price does look tempting. However, the drawback is Napoli's reluctance to sell and the lingering doubt some of the higher ups at United, and maybe even the manager, would prefer the Premier League proven Harry Kane who looks destined to finally escape the perpetual doom of Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

The Blues have been baffling football fans since Todd Boehly took over, with his seemingly endlessly deep pockets snaring some of Europe's brightest talents to the Bridge despite the looming threat of FFP.

Boehly seemed to have found a loophole in signing his new stars to massively long deals, but with the loophole rumoured to be set to be closed by UEFA soon, surely Graham Potter cannot splash another £100m+ on a star player.

Of course, were Potter to be offered Osimhen he would snap the hand off his owner as Chelsea have been desperate for a leading striker since the failed return of Romelu Lukaku went pair shaped.

The Blues will undoubtedly shed a lot of their bloated squad in the summer to make room both on the balance sheet and in their first team squad, but it does seem unlikely Osimhen will be arriving in West London.

With the impact loan signing Joao Felix has been making for the lowly Blues, expect them to sign him permanently before signing anyone else. The fact Chelsea are almost certain not to be playing in the Champions League next season is another negative for their skinny looking 7/1 odds here. You never know with Boehly, but this looks a bet to avoid.

The Catalonians have yanked every lever possible to escape their impending financial apocalypse, and amazingly have still managed to top La Liga under the inspired management of Xavi.

The future could be bleak for Barca if financial predictions come true for the massively indebted and bloated club, but for now they are letting the good times roll. Megastars in European football aren't often mooted to move and not linked with Camp Nou, but surely this one cannot happen. The champions-elect in Spain are skint, to put it simply, and will be selling players just to balance the books.

Additionally, they already possess one of the best number nines in world football in Robert Lewandowski. Yes, he is in his mid-thirties, but he is the ultimate professional and still performing to an exceptionally high level. There is no need to replace the Pole just yet, so we cannot see Barcelona entering the potential race for Osimhen. Much like Chelsea, one to avoid in this market.

Priced up at the same odds as their La Liga rivals, Real Madrid would certainly make more appeal for Osimhen's next club. Much like their rivals they have an ageing but elite number nine, however they are in a much better financial position than Barca and could be on the lookout for their next poster boy star after the famous Mbappe saga and being snubbed by Erling Haaland (at least for the time being) in favour of Man City.

Madrid now hold Karim Benzema as a legend of the club after stepping up to be their leading man since the departure of former talisman Cristiano Ronaldo. Benzema has had the Indian summer of all Indian summers in the latter end of his career and when on song his powers do not seem on the wane in the slightest. Time, however, waits for no man (as his former teammate Ronaldo has found out all too well) and Madrid will be conscious they will need a new number nine before too long.

They have the money, they have the pull power... Don't write off Los Blancos!

The last team listed in the odds is the Premier League champions elect, Arsenal.

The Gunners were outsiders to win the title at the start of the season but have had a phenomenal season under Mikel Arteta's tutelage. One of the key components of the North London outfit is the immense pressing from the front, led by Gabriel Jesus who was an off season recruit from title rivals Man City.

Jesus has been a revelation leading the line for The Gunners and is a firm favourite with the fans. Arsenal with Champions League football guaranteed should have a healthy transfer kitty for summer of 2023, but a striker of Osimhen's quality would be a waste of funds with Jesus being the number one forward. The Napoli man is undoubtedly a better player but will not be heading to North London unless something drastic happens, so we can confidently rule this one out.
