Wales axe Kit Symons as assistant manager for Euro 2024 qualifiers in phone call after World Cup flop

Wales manager Robert Page has sacked Kit Symons as assistant manager for the Euro 2024 qualifiers. Symon's contract was not renewed. Page will bring in a new assistant coach before their Euro opener against Croatia in Split on March 25. Syons was assistant to Chris Coleman twice before. He was sacked as Fulham manager and worked as an opposition scout at Atromitos in Athens.

Tony Strudwick and Kit Symons are not expected to have their contracts renewed. StrUDwick was appointed by Ryan Giggs in January 2018 but his contract expired at the end of the World Cup finals. Symonics was sacked by the FAW after the defeat to England in November.
